I tell God often that He has me in the wrong place. But deep down I know He has me exactly where He wants me to be. Scripture over and over affirms our purpose as Christians in this world."You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden." Matthew 5:14 (NIV).

Trusting God is one of those “Christian-ese” phrases that is often misrepresented in the church. A lot of lip service without the confidence and full understanding in the one we are encouraged to put our trust in: God Himself.

There are two ways to look at these obstacles in our faith journey. They can either keep us from God or become an opportunity to experience His love, power and purposes as we walk through them. 

We put so much stock and expectation in our ability to control and manage these unwanted interruptions. God, in His grace and patience, lets us have our way in how we respond to them.

Consider the people in your life that you disagree with. It’s easy to pull up from behind and tailgate them from a place of pride and self-righteousness, instead of grace and understanding, but our faith should present an alternative way of responding.

Part of letting our kids go to become young adults, is trusting God that what we might have missed as a parent or didn't quite communicate is left for them to figure out with GOD. As parents, God does not expect us to cover it all before our kids leave home. In fact, that would be impossible. But God, can and will for each of our kids.
